Road Map for Selling

Step 1 – Home reports

Sellers are required by law to provide a home report for buyers. These include a single survey, an energy report and a property questionnaire.

Step 2 – marketing the property

See our Estate Agency page for more details on our marketing services.

Step 3 – Negotiating the sale

Our approved solicitors will negotiate the selling price and other matters – such as the date of entry – before negotiating and accepting any offer to purchase on your behalf. This exchange of letters signed by us is referred to as ‘missives’. Once their terms are finally agreed, there is a concluded and binding contract.

Step 4 – The paperwork

Further checks have to be carried out by our approved solicitors after an offer has been accepted, for instance, in relation to building work or repairs. Then new title deeds can be drawn up transferring ownership of the property. Our approved solicitors can take care of all this, while also collecting the money from the sale, arranging to discharge and repay your existing mortgage if you have one and, if necessary, arranging for the surplus to be put towards the purchase of your new home.

Step 5- After the sale

We will also be available for advice after the deal has been completed.

Mortgage Calculator

This does not constitute an offer of credit and is an estimate based on the details you have provided.

This information is computer-generated and relies on certain assumptions. It has only been designed to give a useful general indication of costs based on the mortgage details you input.

It's important you always get a specific quote from the lender and double-check the price yourself before acting on the information. Hann and Co does not act as ether a lender or broker and any example of mortgage costs is not an offer of credit or an indication of likely acceptance by any given lender.

These results are for a repayment mortgage and are only intended as a guide. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage.
