Personal Injury and Accident
We offer a service for individuals injured at work, in road traffic accidents or elsewhere, who wish to pursue a claim for damages. From intimating your claim on the relevant parties, arranging specialist medical reports and representing you in court where necessary, we can assist you with every stage of your claim at no cost to you.
No Win No Fee Claims
After you speak to one of our solicitors, we will advise you whether or not you have a valid claim for compensation. If you do have a valid claim, we will act for you on a No-Win, No-Fee basis, which means if your claim is unsuccessful you will not pay us a penny.
We will discuss the procedure for making a claim with you, which generally will involve obtaining expert medical reports and quantifying your claim, and answer any questions you may have. If your claim is successful, we charge a success fee of up to 15% (or such lower amount as shall be agreed) of the compensation recovered on your behalf.
After the event insurance
After the event (ATE) legal expense insurance is taken out after an accident has happened to cover you for any legal costs you may incur when you pursue a compensation claim. An insurance policy can be obtained in some cases to cover the costs of litigation if you lose your case.ATE is usually taken out by people who wish to make a compensation claim, but who do not have before year event insurance.
It is also sometimes taken out by people who do have a BTE policy, but one that doesn’t cover all or some of the potential costs of the claim.
Before the event insurance
Before the event insurance (BTE) is taken out by people who want to protect themselves just in case something happens.
It is often sold as part of the overall package for car and household contents insurance policies, or as an extra ‘add on’ benefit which you can pay for with these types of policies. Fee service to check existing policies.
Legal Aid
If we are unable to take on your case on a No Win No Fee basis, funding may be available to progress your claim from the Scottish Legal Aid Board.
